The topic of how the human race co-exist with plants and animal species never fails to captivate our attention because of all the negative effects of human activities on the global environment, one of the most profound, easy to exacerbate and difficult to rectify is the species extinction. People hold different views on this issue. Some pessimists hold the opinion that this problem gets so bad that it's unlikely to correct it. With the fast-growing population, the battle to preserve biodiversity is doomed to be a lost cause. On the other hand, optimists insist that problems can be solved and situation can be improved as long as effective measures could be taken. As far as i'm concerned, i agree with the latter. It's better late than never. First, one of the main cause of the species distinction is that we human overemphasize the economic benefit while ignoring the environmental protection. Since we have realized the importance of environmental protection, and our economy is getting much better, countries can and will follow a development path that's much more balanced and sustainable. Second, more and more attention and efforts have been dedicated to biodiversity. Laws have been carried out, awareness has been aroused and measures are being taken. Though it may take hundreds of years to yield the fruit of the measures being taken, we can be sure those measures would take effect.
