It seems that classes and libraries are more important than sports and social activities. The reasoning is that academic grade is the most important factor to judge a student. However, as far as I am concerned, sports and social activities are just as important as classes and libraries in the long run, and should receive equal financial support. To start with, in today’s world, more and more students have mental and physical problems. Because of the competition, students have to try their best to study more, they always have many tasks everyday, such like presentations, doing papers researches, and attend various lessons. In this condition, it is difficult for students to maintain physical health as they usually study all nights and do not have enough time to do some sports out campus. In addition, many students who are under such great pressure are easier to have mental and psychological problems if do not have good ways to relax themselves. Therefore, it is the university’s duty to offer equal financial support on sports and social activities. It is a good way to let students far away from mental and physical problems. What is more, many sport-equipments are very expensive, if the university does not support it or only pay a little money on it, students will have few chances to do some sports in campus. Many students have requirements that doing sports everyday, but most of them can not afford big sport-equipments such like swimming pools and running machines. Thus they need the university give equal financial support. In addition, some meaningful social activities also require financial support for the spaces and equipments to hold these activities. Finally, giving financial support for sports and social activities also benefits the university. During doing sports and holding social activities, the university has more chances to develop better-rounded students. It is not only good for students when they attend jobs but also benefits the university. Because these better-rounded students represent the university, no doubt that it is the great way to develop the reputation of the university and attack more talented people. All in all, sports and social activities are just as important as classes and libraries in the long run, and should receive equal financial support.
