Have you ever experienced the awkward when people ask your some questions that you are unwilling to answer? If so, you might definitely stand on my side that whether telling truth should depend on case-by-case analysis. Admittedly, telling truth among people is the cornerstone of all society. When we make friends with the strange, the first thing to consider is that whether he or she is honesty or loyal. Only telling truth, can he or she be our friends and accept by our "circle of friends", that is to say honest is the most important quality among friends. However, sometimes telling truth is not the best choice, even disgusted by people. For example, Chinese girls consider that the thinner body they have, the more beautiful they are. Even they have been slender enough, they are still reluctant to talk about their weight with others, especially with men, so you never get an accurate answer about female body weight. For this, how can you condemn their white lies? Also, when it comes to country, as we all know, authorities have the obligation to keep national security. Thus, American government never announces to the world that how many nuclear weapons do they have, or the concrete information of their army distribution, or the progress of research about Alien and so on. So do the other countries. Similarly, diplomats often tell some lies selectively to confuse the enemy or protect national security. Clearly, it’s the responsibility that makes them “tell lies”. Therefore, there is nothing wrong to tell truth. But under some certain conditions, telling lies should be condoned rather than condemned.
