Some people claim that children should be encouraged to play computer games since it is an effective way to release pressure, and sometimes may be adopted as a new teaching method. But in fact, it is little wonder that children should be prohibited to play computer games. The reasons are as following. To begin with, playing computer games is harmful to children’s physical and psychological health, As we all know, computer games are so attractive, even adults easily lose track of time and spend hours on them daily, let alone children. So, it's not uncommon that many children are addicted to computer games every day. and have little opportunity to take part in the routine exercise. Thus, it is no surprise that more and more children have a poor physical condition. Also, radiation from computers is a big contributor to this phenomenon. Similarly, as lack of communication with peers, even with family members, they are likely to cut off from the reality, feel lonely and isolated, and then spend more time on computer games further, which creates a vicious circle. Therefore, computer games are posing a severe threat to the growth of children. Further, children are still in their formative years, and lack the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, so they are vulnerable to the violent and pornographic contents. When children are exposed to computer games at an early age, with great curiosity, they will imitate what they have seen in the games, which may result in terrible consequence. According to a recent survey, the rates of violent events children involved drives up to 30% due to the computer games. So it's our obligation to protect children from computer games. In summary, our country should joint effort to take effective measures to create a better environment for children's growth before increasing number of children suffer from the computer games.
