Nowadays, people begin to realize that the quality of life in large cities keeps declining. The phenomenon may be ascribe to the following reasons. Firstly, the decreasing quality of air may be one of the causes. With the rapidly increasing number of cars in the urban area, the air is severely polluted. People have to take measures to arm themselves from head to toe for not taking in the pollutants in the air. Secondly, the reason of traffic jam may be counted in. Although cars provide great convenience for people's travelling, there is no denying that too large number of cars in a city may definitely lead to congestion. Spending one or two extra hours on the way to work place become a nuisance that is not new to the people living in the city. Thirdly, the soaring price of living house is one of the main reasons that drag down the quality of life in city. It is well acknowledged that marital people's main concern in China is to find a shelter place. To their disappointment, most of them cannot afford the price of house and they have to spend much money in renting a small house instead. Of course, reasons for the decreasing quality of life in city are far from those that have been mentioned above. To trace their root of the reason, it lies mainly in the large population in the urban area. As to how to cope with the problem, several measures can be taken by the government, such as to establish some satellite cities around the downtown with the purpose of dispersing the large population, or to enact some policy that will benefit those who live in minor cities, and so forth.
