The creeds of American Puritanism have deeply affected the history and the culture of America, and it is the critical factor for composing American spirit. Especially for women, they are put the position in which obey their husband at running the family all the time instead of being the winner of the butter. What’s more, Puritans try their best to lead an extremely simple life with the optimistic attitude, who stress highly on the spiritual life, emphasized the self-discipline as well as morality. In order to survive in the unfamiliar environment smoothly, Puritans have to bear the responsibility to make a living with the innovative and brave spirits. Thanks to the clear goals of life, Puritans are typical pragmatists. They advocate the obedience to the God, stick to the morality, and respect the authority of the Bible. Most importantly, Puritans had a holy ideal, and they tended to think of themselves as God-chosen people living on the Promised Land. In order to fight new natural surroundings and to survive, puritans must have courage, boldness and adventurous spirit. They believed in liberty, property, success, happiness of life and a bright future. They got down to practical work diligently and optimistically. Through one hundred year of development, American Puritans have posses spirits of glorifying the freedom, endeavor and success. They believe there is a close relationship between success and God’s beliefs.
