Shall We Only Buy Things Made in Our Own Country? As the tendency of international trade that develops rapidly, the mind of “self-sufficient” is no longer adapts to the new age. Because of this, I think we should not only buy things that are domestically but also buy something that are made in other countries. First of all, no one country is resourceful enough to produce everything that people need in life. For example, China needs a mass of ironstone for its iron industry, but its output don`t satisfy the need, so it should import this original raw materials from other countries. Secondly, buying international goods is a gesture to build up a cooperative relationship with other counties. Every country has its own comparative advantage. For instance, Japan is a country of scarcity of resources, every year it imports plenty of grain, vegetables, meat and food from our country, but this country is famous for automobiles, electronic products in the world, so we can buy its high quality products. In conclusion, we had better not purchase things that made in our country. We should exploit our comparative advantages to participate in international trade, so we must abandon the idea of “self-sufficient”.
