Task Direction:
You will have a choice between two Issue topics. Each topic will appear as a brief quotation that states or implies an issue of general interest. Read each topic carefully; then decide on which topic you could write a more effective and well-reasoned response.
You will have 45 minutes to plan and compose a response that presents your perspective on the topic you select. A response on any other topic will receive a zero. You are free to accept, reject, or qualify the claim made in the topic you selected, as long as the ideas you present are clearly relevant to the topic. Support your views with reasons and examples drawn from such areas as your reading, experience, observations, or academic studies.
GRE readers who are college and university faculty will read your response and evaluate its overall quality, based on how well you do the following
consider the complexities and implications of the issue
organize, develop, and express your ideas on the issue
support your ideas with relevant reasons and examples
control the elements of standard written English.
You may want to take a few minutes to think about the issue and to plan a response before you begin writing. Be sure to develop your ideas fully and organize them coherently, but leave time to reread what you have written and make any revisions that you think are necessary.

Nowaday, more and more people are concerned about the problem of investment. Some people claim to spend money on research namely is a good investment, even if the results are filled controversy. I think money spent on research is a good thing, but the premise is not contrary to the moral and legal, and to promote the development of technology and science, improve people`s life quality. The reasons are as follows. First of all, how to evaluate the investment on research is good or bad. The evaluation standard is not fixed. But the moral and legal as the most basic premise can not be violated. For example, during World War 2, Hitler ordered research and develop transformed man of no pain. Since like this research can be practiced, success would ultimately bring disaster to humanity. So we invest in such research is not possible at all. Next, can promote the development of technology and science, improve people`s life quality, no matter whether the results of that research are controversial, invest that research just is a good thing. For instance, to invest one ambitious attempt currently involves lessening the effects of infections such as HIV. And to invest the research of to increase food production, etc. In sum, money spent on research is a good thing, even if the results of that research are controversial, we can recieve the experiments from the results for future`s development. The last, researches have risks, the investment need to be cautious.
