Technology makes a better world In the year of 1946，the world’s first computer came into being in the United States of America, created by the scientists from the University of Pennsylvania. From then on, the world has jumped into a new era called “the information era”. From the very beginning, the internet just rendered service for the army, which transmitted information from one another. However, with the network technology growing rapidly, the interconnection network is no longer exclusively used by the army. Nowadays, the network technology has walked into millions of households and has become a convenient tool for people. The development of the network technology makes online shopping possible, which makes online shopping easier that people are able to buy anything they want by just clicking the mouse. When people are shopping online, they will have more choice on the internet than that of the physical stores. There are millions of online stores that sell a wide variety of goods. Before buying something, people can make comparisons among those online stores to find the best choice which is inexpensive but in good quality. Besides, I think online shopping is a kind of fashion trend, since technology is in its first steps on the fashion side. Online shopping is an approach for people to feeling fashion, to grasping fashion and to being a fashionable person. Apart from that, online shopping also gives people an opportunity to be connected with the rest of the world; the process of shopping online is the process of communication. When people are surfing the internet, the journey of seeing the outside world begins. However, every coin has two sides, and online shopping is not an exception. Online shopping has long been a controversial topic, and many people are wondering if online store can take the place of physical store as the superior choice when people are going to buy something. People’s concern comes from two levels. The first one is the goods itself, and many people are querying whether people can truly buy something in a low price while high quality. And also, if people buy some fakes, they will find it hard to tackle the problem for online stores compared with the physical store is unsafe and unreliable. The second level is that many people are obsessed with online shopping, which is a kind of mental disease. People pay the bill by online bank, and people will have the illusion that they haven’t spent a single penny. Therefore, many people especially women are crazy about the satisfaction they gained from online shopping and find it hard to give up buying something even unnecessary. Besides, the online retailers often sell things in a incredibly low price which lures buyers to buy the goods on sale just to meet the satisfaction of buying something cheap. However, when they look at the bill sadly at the end of the month, it’s too late to regret. All in all, I think the advantage of shopping online is much more than its drawbacks. The society are moving on and on, with the modernization and industrialization becoming more and more advancing and complete. The “E-AGE” is what the world will going to be, we should follow it while change and perfect it.
