There are various perspectives on the question of whether or not men and women are equally good at all jobs.While some still hold to the conservative view that certain jobs are better performed by men and others by women,it is my personal belief that people of either gender are capable of doing any job effectively. The reasons for this are twofold.Firstly,I would argue that it is a mistake to base our views on traditional ideas about men and women as such stereotypes are often inaccurate.Although it is true that some characteristics are typically male and others are typically female,there are exceptions to every rule.Conventional gender roles are not appropriate for every individual.For example,not all women are physically weak,just as not all men are incompetent communicators.Secondly,I would contend that the presence of both genders in one workplace brings a sense of balance.Men and women freguently,though by no means always,have different methods of solving problems.We should view these differences as opportunities for innovation instead of judging them to be weakness. In summary,I reaffirm my argument that both male and female employees are an asset to any industry.In this regard,one should not be dissuaded from choosing an occuoation simply because of his/her gender.
