The reading passage explores the issue of employees want to work a four-day week .According to the reading ,working a four-day workweek for 80 percent o their normal pay would good for economy and the emplyees .The professor's lecture deals with the same issue.However the lecture apparently disproves what is argued in the reading material .And in the lecture ,he usea three specific points to support his idea. To start with ,the reading passage suggests that the shortened workweek would improve company benefits becaues the company could get more profits and hire more stuff with the same costs.Yet the professor claim that the company would spand more money .Because,hire more emplyees means more spend at work training and medial.Also ,they need more office space and computers .On account of above mentions ,the author's assertion turned out to be a preposterous idea. Furthemore ,contrary to the statement in the reading that four-day workweek would rsduce unemployment rates ,the professor contends that companies have other better choices,they expect their stuff work overtime or hire emplyees who is willing to work at friday .on the basis of this point the lecture eplicity refutes the reading. Finally ,the reading passage may be right about employees get more extra time for their own life but the author ignore the facts that the stuff lose more chances to advance career.
