The reading passage explores the issue of work a four-day week.According to the reading, it would be good for companies and employees that working a four-day workweek for 80 percent of their normal pay.The professor's lecture deals with the same issue.However the lecture apparently disproves what is argued in the reading material.And in the lecture,he uses three specific points to support his idea. To start with,the reading passage suggests that the shortened workweek would improve company benefits because the company could get more profits and hire more stuff with the same costs.Yet the professor claim that the company would spend more money.Because employ more employees means more spend at work training and medial.Also,more stuff means need more office space and computers.On account of above mentions,the author's assertion turned out to be a preposterous idea. Furthermore,contrary to the statement in the reading that four-day workweek would reduce unemployment rates,the professor contends that companies have other better choices,they expect their stuff work overtime and hire employee who is willing to work at Friday.On the basis of this point, the lecture explicitly refutes the reading. Finally,the reading passage may be right about employees get more extra time for their own life but ignore the facts that the stuff would lose more chances to advance career.
