Nowadays, whether students can obtain the necessary qualifications for success through study at universities has been heatedly debated. Some people hold that education in universities is not able to satisfy students’ needs of stepping into the society. Others maintain that university education lays a solid foundation for students’ future success. From my perspective, the statement is ungrounded because it ignores not only the importance of knowledge, but also some value of shaping fine personalities. The main reason for my propensity to disagree with the statement is that enough reserve of knowledge is key to success especially in the realm of occupation. Undergraduates assimilate a variety of knowledge including basic and professional knowledge[basic and professional knowledge] so that they can easily deal with different kinds of problems in daily life or the learning process. Similarly, at work, it[it] is clear that one can put his potentials to optimal use according to past learning experience because he possess[possesses]es enough reserve of knowledge and knows how to use it. Therefore, without some proper and high quality education, a person has more difficulties in having complete mind which lead to success. Another equally essential factor why I advocate university education involves characteristics. No one can deny that in personal development, one must possess a good personality in order to handle complex relationships with colleagues and superiors. University education just offers an appropriate platform for students to develop characteristics needed by modern society, such as creativity, perseverance, leadership and team spirit, etc. Students learn these from campus life and gradually make these indispensible parts of themselves. Obviously, it has the greatest impact on a individual’s socialization which is a learned behavior that remains with a person in his entire life. Through study at universities, one is more likely to be a leader or an elite to realize self value. In conclusion, I strongly support that society should offer more opportunities for individuals to enter the university because nothing is more important than education. If individuals achieve success, society win success, too.
