Advertising discourages people from being different individuals by making us all want to do the same and look the same. Do you agree or disagree?

题目讲解:

题义理解上有那么一点难!但是总之都跟广告有关。

广告使人们都看上去一样,也就是广告的宣传效应会影响人们的消费行为 manipulate people's buying behaviour然后掀起一些特定品牌的时尚create fashion。也就是去写广告的影响力会使一些brands垄断市场monopolise the market。
但是广告其实并不会使人们都一样,我们不能低估人们对于产品质量和个人喜好的理性underestimate people's rationality to products quality and the influence of personal preference.
这么一分析,还是我们说的广告经典题,广告到底能不能影响人们的消费!

When it comes to whether advertising prohibits people from being different individuals by making us all want to do the same and look the same,people’s opinions diverse greatly.Some feel that advertising influence their minds so much that they always buy many unnecessary things.The argument seems self-evident, but in fact requires closer examination. It is undeniable that successful advertising is the most effective method to encourage mass consumption.Good advertising can not only circulate information,but it can also penetrate the public mind with belief along with desires.That means advertising will manipulate people's buying behavior.At the same way,advertising can create some fashion and help brands dominate the market.This belief,though logical,overlooks two key points which are,of course,product quality and personal preference. Although advertising is the most effective way to encourage consumption,particularly when the product is cheap and worthless,the bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.Therefore,product quality is not what the supplier puts in,rather,it is what the customer gets out and is willing to pay for. Admittedly,different individuals have all kinds of necessaries.For example,housewives always want to buy some fresh and delicious food and cook them at home.However,many white collars often eat in the canteen for lunch at weekday.With regards to different needs,people could not always buy the same things.It is better to think that customers pay for what is useful to them and give them great value for the right price. From the above discussion,it is clear that consumers have now become more prudent in spending behaviors and hence are no longer as penny-wise and blindly follow as before.
