Dialect as a ipmortant mark of the culture with which a person grow up, I stongly support that it should be inheritted by our next generation. Therefore, in a communication with peeople like families, I am more apt to speaking dialect. However, when it comes to the public place, I hold a quite different view. For me, it's unappropriate and unacceptable to use dialect in public place. In the first place, it's impolite to speak something that can not be understood by a third listener. In the public place, it's very likely that when you are speaking to someone with dialect, a third people standing beside can get nothing what you are talking about, so he or she may feel they are ignored and you are not respecting them. Second, using dialct may affect the effectivity of communication in public place. In our daily life communicaiton, dialect may be more convinient. How ever, in the public place, for instance, you are talking about a business with a partner, it's unaviodable that you come up with some profeesional iterms which hardly can you find words of dialect to express them. That could have bad impact on your communication. Thirdly, speaking dialect in public place is not a good choice for oneself. Apparently, the number of dialect-spokers is relatively small in public place so that you will make yourself a member of minority, which will make you seem like a geek and fail to paticipate in bigger social community. Above all, I am more in the side of speaking a language that can be understood and accepted by most people in public place which is a clever choice for oneself and others.
