With the development of science, pollution is more and more serious. As a teenager, I have the responsibility to help reduce pollution. The things that I can do are as follows. Firstly, I always reuse plastic bags or directly buy reusable shopping bags instead of disposable plastic bags. If everyone does so when shopping, it will rapidly reduce white pollution which influences beautiful environment and animals and plants badly and save a lot of resources. At the same time, I can reduce using other disposable items, such as using handkerchiefs and bowls rather than paper towels and fast food boxes. As is known to us all, disposable items not only waste a number of resources and increase our cost, but also cause pollution. There are so many disadvantages, so recycling is of importance and we should use things which can be recycled as many as possible. For example, reducing single-sided paper and using double-sided copying. Secondly, I always save energy by turning off the television and the lights every time I leave home. We must pay attention to unplugging when we leave a long time. The reasons are not only will we pay less electric charges, but also we will reduce emissions from coal-fired electricity plants. I consider this is a good habit and an easy way to reduce pollution. In addition, I use the washing machine with full loads so that I can save money. What’s more, it can reduce using energy and detergents which increases nutrient. We all realize that we must try our best to improve our environment and there are a number of approaches which are beneficial to the environment. However, some people always forget to do them. Therefore, it is of significance to share the benefits of a recycling program and meaningful ways with friends. Only everyone takes measures to protect the environment, it’s likely to prevent pollution as soon as possible.
