Honesty, intelligence and a sense of humor contribute to our success in life. However the most important one in my opinion is honesty because honest people can achieve others’ credit and do everything under the principle. Not only the clever people; but also the sensitive men only are honesty, can they succeed. Initially, there is no doubt that telling truth is a virtue because trust is based on our honesty. We know that adults often educate their children to be honest. For example, when Washington, the first president in the USA, was young, he found that his father possessed a new axe. In order to examine whether the axe was blunt or not, he chopped his father’s cherish cherry tree, which made his father was very angry about it. Nevertheless, Washington told the truth to his father instead of concealing it; as a result, his father forgave him for his honesty. Intelligence is valuable to us, but not all clever people use their intelligence to do proper things. No matter how intelligent people are, if they are dishonest, they can not be successful in doing anything. For instance, there was once a very intelligent student in “Beijing University” which is the best and most famous university in China. When he went to the USA to pursue advanced studies, he stole a ride for about three times, which enraged the local station officials. At last, he was expelled by the American university’s administrators. Therefore, honesty is really much more important than intelligence in our life. Third, Humorous people is of value, but many people usually joke instead of being honest at the wrong time, which makes a big misunderstanding among a large number of people. A typical example can illustrate it. Students need to take many exams during one semester. However, there are always a few students can not control themselves to cheat in order to get high marks. The students sometimes state that they do not realize the serious result of cheating and treat it as a joke; as result, this kind of students are punished. To sum up, telling truth is virtue which can make others forgive us for our honesty .Intelligence and a sense of humor are both based on honesty. If people hide the truth or joke at the wrong time, they may be failing.
