Higher education is the best choice for most of the youths who want to prepare for a bright prospect. And one of the concerns about attending a specific university is how is it funded. Because different funding patterns may have different advantages. Most public university are usually funded by the government. Some European countries like Sweden and Finland and Denmark have a long tradition of free higher education. The obvious benefits are the equal opportunities for every high school graduate to receive higher education. Besides, schools receive stable financial support from the government which can guarantee the education quality. But this may bring some negative impacts. Once the support from the government decreased, the school may face finance burden, which may pose some threat to the teaching quality. Free education also turn some students into slackers, who doesn't appreciate the chance offered by the government. Some famous universities around the world are private universities. For instance, Harvard University and Cornell University. These universities mainly receive funds from the students' tuition or private donation. Because of that, these universities are eager to improve their teaching quality and to follow the social demands to attract students and private investment. That means they collect the best faculty and facility to attract the best students and get their investment paid off. From the students' perspective, they will learn harder in order to be responsible for their tuition. Either in public or in private universities, some students from a less well-off family may be taken care of by the government loan. Which means they will be more appreciated for the opportunities, and in order to be responsible for the government trust and their future, they will work harder both in college and after graduation. Based on above points, I think the students' loan may be the best one. It has the advantages of both reducing the university's financial burden and bringing students motivation to do their jobs.
