The past several decades have witnessed a great change in a population structure of a nation. It is not rare to see that a various cultural society with a mixture of nationalities. People think that it can benefit the country. However, I partly agree with it. Following reasons can support my opinion. To be sure, many advantages can be gained when a country is made up of different cultures and nationalities. First of all, the exchange of culture can not only promote the relationship and friendship among people but also enrich people’s knowledge and enlarge their horizons. The merging of people with a variety of backgrounds and experiences help us create new innovations and inventions which is beneficial to the whole world. Moreover, this a good way to keep the positive attributes while removing the negatives. For instance, we can acquire advances skills from Germany. What is the most interesting for citizens is we are easy to have access to foreign cultures which can give us a sense of freshness. However, this change do have unexpected results. In china, a growing number of people celebrate Valentine’s Day instead of Double Seventh Festival; people prefer spending more time learning English than Chinese literature. All these cases can illustrate that we are losing our traditional culture and identity. The decline of cultural soft power leads to the low international standing. All in all, multi-cultural society lets us live a happier and more interesting life but it also brings some adverse impact on our nation.
