Some people think that it's totally unnecessary for children to learn history, art alike subjects, for these subjects have nothing to do with life. While others may argue that history and art are the core essence of one nation's culture and the identity of its citizens, they play an intangible role in each citizen's development. Nowadays, some parents and youngsters think that it would be more practical to only offer children with some useful subjects, like Language, Math, chemistry, physics, which can be applied in daily life. They'd like to put it in an economic way, with the subjects mentioned above can guarantee an individual's basic needs for reading, calculating, common science knowledge. The more one learns about subjects besides these subject, the more one get restricted by the useless knowledge. But another group of people may oppose this arguments. They claim that the view of their opponent are shortsighted. For example, history can teach people how to judge at a critical moment; art develops one's artistic eye and taste for life; Law help one get the basic knowledge of one's rights and obligation. More or less, or sooner or later, these subjects will have some significant influences on one's life. Children usually have a strong curiosity for the world, it's important to teach them different subjects to help them learn about their surroundings. Rather than overly emphasize one than another.
