There is no doubt that the growing traffic and pollution problems has become one of the most pressing concerns around the world, especially in the metropolis. It is high time that everyone should take it seriously and get involved. Some people Suggested that increasing the price of petrol should be the best way because it will discourage people from buying more private car or using it as often as present since they can't afford the petrol anymore. Thus a large number of cars will be reduced on the road or anywhere else which will be much helpful for smoothing the traffic and lessening the pollution. I partially agree with this opinion. I do believe that this measure will work to some extent. However it is still far away from the best. There are a lot of other ways we can go and I think the best way is to combine them together. First of all, the government should redouble their efforts to develop the public transportation system and encourage or attract people as many as possible to use it. Some cities such as my hometown have adopted this resolution. They set bus lanes which are for bus only during the rush hour.
