It seems that learning the culture is one of the main purposes of traveling to many people who choose to spend their holiday in exotic places. But why and how do we learn another culture? Learning and simulating other people, in my opinion, can help us communicate and socialize smoothly with the local citizens. We can make new friends more easily and call for help if we stuck into some trouble. Another benefit is that culture is a portion of the scenery. Learning more about the culture will broad our sight and enrich our experience. What is more, most of the historical buildings and artificial art reflect their own distinguish culture. Only by comprehending the culture can we truly enjoy the beauty. There are plenty of methods to learn the culture. Most directly, the museum records the history and culture in detail and in a vivid way, offering visitors an all-sided description of the culture in several hours. In contrast, making local friends is another way costing much more time and the culture you learnt might be one-sided. Otherwise, this can be most impressive because instead of learning the culture, you are literally experiencing it. However, some people state that learning the new culture may not a good idea to them. Culture shock can be an annoying obstacle which make them really uncomfortable. They stoutly insist their original way to think and communicate. Traveling to them is a time to relax from the stressful life while culture shock will only make them even more nerves. A case in point is that my eldest uncle move from a small village to live in my city three years ago to make a living by washing dishes. But last month he left with great depression because he just cannot adapt to the urban life.
