Both undergraduate and postgraduate studies have a number of things in common. However, there are also some conspicuous differences between them. The purpose of this essay is to contrast the differences between undergraduate and postgraduate studies. First of all, the most notable difference between them is changing of the students\' mind. During the college, most of the students have no clearly ideas of their future and have plenty of chances to try various things that they are interested in; while postgraduates usually have specific aims and understand which job they will be engaged in the future. Moreover, the purpose of learning is different. During the college studies, students simply acquire the basic knowledge, while postgraduates are required to not only understand the fundamental knowledge better, but also make use of the knowledge to analyze and solve practical problems. Therefore, postgraduates feel more pressure and need to study more diligently. The last but not least, undergraduate studies are colorful and easy whilepostgraduate studies is rich and rough. Both of college and postgraduate studies have much spare time. However, undergraduates have more free time to do what they love and enjoy the various leagues during college life, while postgraduates have to finish their scientific research which is important in their subject, besides they have a long list of books and papers to read. To sum up, although undergraduate study and postgraduate study both need hard work and diligence, they do have their own distinctive characteristics in mind, learning objectives and spare time.
