For some reasons I went to the Town Hall on Wednesday-the last day of the year exactly. A large crowed of people gathered under the world-famous Town Hall Clock, the characteristic symbol of this town indeed, which would strike twelve in only twenty minutes’ time as it was widely expected. However, fifteen minutes passed and then, at five to twelve, the highly technologically advanced clock stopped suddenly. As everyone unexpected, the big minute hand seeming to be perfect did not move. In consequence we waited and waited anxiously without anything happened. At last someone shouted loudly resonantly with a great sense of humor:” It’s two minutes past twelve! The clock has stopped!” Hearing his voice, I looked at my watch as soon as I can, which proved his statement is true exactly. We stopped short of being deceived by the bloody Town Hall Clock. If it hadn’t been that man, we shouldn’t have realized that New Year’s Day was coming. After a moment, everybody began to laugh and sing, despite the big clock refused the New Year. As an acceleration flood of cheerful people was pouring into the Town Hall, an overwhelming happiness covered every inch of this town. Of course, this grand festival symbolize exciting and delightful.
