The cartoon describes a very common phenomenon in our society about the current situation of the online social networking. What we can see is a spider-wed-like house with individual people surfing on the internet in each of the room. The picture reads“The near and far distant of internet”. The internet does bring us more convenience. Just sitting at home, we can contact with anyone else around the world by computers. We can even make acquaintance with strangers who have the same interest with us. On the one hand, the convenience greatly close the space distant between each other. We can chat online with strangers to share the life. However, on other hand, the internet reduce the time we communicate face to face, which might open the psychological distant, therefore make us feel lonelier. Moreover, virtual net might cover up the real fact when we chatting with someone we didn’t know. Everything has advantages and disadvantages. The key is to control the tolerance. We shouldn’t over-rely on the internet to communicate, as it is implicated in the cartoon. All in all, if we make good use of internet, we can color our world.
