Due to the high pressure working environment and raising living expenses, many youngs have postponed their marriage and the time to give birth a child. On the other hand, the highly developed medical technology can now heal more diseases which used to be seen as cureless. The result was an aging society, which is one challenge faced by many countries around the world. Aging society is commonly known to be negative to a county's economy. For one thing, aging society means more elderly people have reached their retirement age, they will live upon the pensions which either offered by the state finance or by the private company. All of which will impose a heavy burden on the society. For another, the young generations will not only need to shoulder the responsibility of taking care of the two pair of parents of their own with less demographic dividend, but also should sacrifice most of their income to ensure the huge group of elderly people to live a better life. This may impose huge pressure on them and low their happiness, which seems unfair. To tackle this problem,a common strategy adopted for the governments is to postpone people's retirement age, and encourage people to have more babies. Many people may feel reluctantly to put off their retirements, but this is inevitable. To encourage young people to have more babies also means more financial incentives and preferential policies, but the young people still have to pay more to support their babies. All in all, both the young and the old would suffer in an aging society. To conclude, census is absolutely necessary in modern society. Based on that, strategic policies will be issued by the government to shape the population structure. By doing so, we are hoping to get rid of an aging society in the future or soon.
