Don't jump to conclusion is one of the statements that I hear so often from older generations. Then why? Why do our parents or teachers say like that? Actually, their sharing of experiences and my thoughts has answered the question because snap judgement can never be trusted. First of all, what is snap judgement? In my point of view, snap judgements mean quick or even unthinkable judgments, which are quite often made based on subjective thinking rather than objective facts. Without the basic facts and critical thinking, could we reach a sensible conclusion? I doubt it. Actually, one typical example can be presented to prove that snap judgements don't deserve to receive trust. In the long lasting novel of Pride and Prejudice, the main female figure Elizabeth dislikes the male figure at the first sight because she makes a snap judgement that Daxi is an arrogant, cold-hearted person. But the truth is that Daxi is a sensible ,kind-hearted man with critical thinking just like her. With more and more close observation, Elizabeth finds out the truth and eliminates her prejudice toward Daci. Therefore, they are finally able to be together and get married happily. If there were no close observations later on, if Elizabeth just sticked on her false impression to Daxi, undoubtedly , she would never gain the happy marriage life. You may not be convinced by this example as it is from literture, but this classic novel is created based on detailed observation toward life and that is why it still has profounding impact on us after it has been written for more than 200 years. The indication from the novel has showed us clearly snap judgements can never be trusted. All in all, before we a judgement, critical thinking should be applied based on the observation toward fact. Let's say no to snap judgements!
