The core of the question that who have the duty or responsibility to ensure citizens have a healthy diet is that where is the border of the public power. In many undergraduate students’ opinion who has learnt law for three years, the government is supposed to be evil, so the more we limit the public power the happier life we will get. So we can say that the government should not interfere with keeping a healthy diet or not. However, according to the theory of Lousseau which named Social Contact, we can find another interesting idea .The theory tells us that we should obey to the government because we promised to do so when we got together to establish the state when we decided to live better. So, for Lousseau ,it is perfect or at least not bad to allow the government to ensure our people have a healthy diet. I used to hold a view which is the same as the former opinion .But now I think it is not perfect ,because without government ,a lot of people will not have the time or proverty to keep such diet. However ,Lousseau also said that when the government abuses its power ,we can replace it .At the end of the passage, I draw my conclusion that the government have the duty to ensure our people have a healthy diet in education way.
