The quick pace of development of modern society has been an inevitable trend. People tends to change constantly in an attempt to get along with the environment. It seems that the difficulty we take to keep doing something is more severe than any other period throughout the history. All sorts of temptation has put us in the dilemma between fickleness and perseverance. Only few people who are sufficiently strong minded to stick to their will and keep practicing in their own accord, as a result, they usually feel happier in the long run. Although there is no shortage of successful stories in the past in terms of perseverance. It would be more intuitive to exemplify why perseverance makes people stronger by making simple calculation. Suppose we compose a poem each day, after a year, the poems will be more than 300 a year, if we keep this practice for 3 years, there would be more than 1000 poems. Which is a big achievement irrespective of the quality. However, sometimes perseverance may give rise to funny situations, especially for those who disregard the common sense. The unrelenting effort to invent ever-lasting machine which can be working without any external energy is an obvious example. In my personal perspective, I believe perseverance will make people stronger only under the condition that the objective we pursuit is right.
