Movie, a milestone in human’s history, was invented in the early 20th century. Although people firstly considered movies as a novel toy that actually is not treated correctly in today’s view, the movies containing so rich contents become gradually a significant part of people’s life, with an honor of the 8th art. In the past, at the time when movies were first time delivered in front of their audiences, they used to display some familiar scenes or simple activities, such as a train travelling and approaching. With the development of the entire movie industry, a growing number of movie patterns started to take part throughout the world. Those patterns, for example, love stories, and western films as well, hastily come into people’s sight. In this situation, a huge number of film actors and directors were well accepted by the mass and become new celebrities. The same thing came to the movies. The western movies, describing some fantastic legend of heroes in the western American, had undoubtedly influence the whole generation in the US, during the 1930s to 1960s. This generation had the strongest emotion towards heroes who reward virtue and punish vice, resulting in the explosion of comic heroes in Marvel and DC, the two tycoons in comic industry. The western films, also cultivated the Americanism, the thirst of the US citizens for democracy, freedom and equity, expressed in the saga everywhere. Thanks to these heroes on silver screen, a mount of folk heroes appear in daily life, and they devote themselves to helping those who are in danger of lives, countering evils and crimes. The film, Stagecoach, is the legend of legends. In the film tells a tale that eight gentles with a prostitute named Dallas, travels in a stagecoach, and then get beleaguered by the native Indians, and how they manage to be safe. Another pattern of movies that influence people most is the love story. In the most common cases, a gentleman with a beautiful lady, experiences an uncommon life that the majority have never a chance to live, and at last falls into the love with her, then lives a happy life in the end. In this kind of films, people can feel the feelings between the two lovers, about how their emotional changes are like, and learn to behave alike either the gentle or the lady does. A well known love story film, as well as a disaster film, Titanic, is a representative of them. Jack, a handsome, poor guy, falls in the love of Rose, a rich beauty at the first glance on the maiden voyage of the Titanic. Unfortunately, the ship hit an iceberg, making them separate with each other, while Jack’s lose of his young life. However, one fragment is all the time to be imitated everywhere. When the lady stands on the deck with her arms stretching out by her sides, Jack holds her hands with the same pose, as if they are flying in the wind. Many couples are crazy about this scene and imitate it when taking wedding photos. Actually, love story movies show us how we could love, and how we should behave in front of our lovers. The impaction of this kind of film is taking part in our daily life, and we sometimes imitate the actions in the films unconsciously. Other types of films, although are not as influential as the two types above, affect our behavior yet. For instance, science fictions develop the technology of space travel and robots, animation films tell us, especially kids, to be virtuous and intelligent, gangster movies remind us to keep vigilant against crimes. In conclusion, movies have already influenced we people’s behaviors. While we are watching films, our value is shaped at the same time. A good movie is also a good teacher, which could tell us what should be done, and what should never.
