Although quite a lot of people, especially some aged people, insist on living in small towns, I would rather live in a big city. I have ever lived in both a small town and a big city for more than ten years; in my view, big cities differ from small towns in many aspects. Firstly, big cities always mean abundant job opportunities. I need to raise my family, after my graduation from college, and a good career could lead me to a better life. Undoubtedly, big cities have so many types of jobs, such as salesmen, accounting, investigators, even actors. That offers me a lot of choices and chances in deciding which occupation I would like to take. In this case, a big city is a place that is full of uncertainty, and opportunities, which means I can live a variable life in the following decades. Secondly, big cities have better educational conditions and more resources in education. The most different part of a big city and a small town might be the condition of education. Big cities always have several famous universities located in them, and the normal quality obviously is turned out to beyond that in small towns. This is not difficult to understand, for big cities, thanks to their better economy and financial condition, they have more money to develop their education, and then the universities feedback to their citizens. Better educational conditions and more resources could offer a better choice that I could make, not only when my kids are growing up, but also when I am going to take a further course, in order to develop myself. What’s more, big cities usually give us better services in any aspect of life. In big cities, or metropolitans, we can easily find a restaurant with a well-designed environment, or a café house for mentally relaxing after a whole day’s work, while several big shopping malls are around these restaurants and café houses so that we don’t need to travel too far away to shop. Travelling in big cities is much easier than travelling in small towns, also. Public transport can cover almost everywhere you want to, while this is incredible for small towns, for there might not be so many bus lines. Although perhaps a house seems unrealizable in a big city for majority, owning an apartment is enough and other advantages that the big city offers, could overcome the housing conditions. So I really love to live in a big city, to get a better job, further education and any other convenience the big city bring about.
