Our daily life is saturated with various kinds of advertisements, such as pop-up windows on the internet, billboards, leaflets and so on. Therefore, some people think that what we consider as important has been influenced and they have negative effects. I believe that it is the content of an advertisement that determines the function of it. As to the public service announcement, it usually informs audiences about core values of the society and encourage them to preserve the ecosystem, which really makes people reflect what they do at a time when most people are lost in the fast paced life. Even some commercial ones, integrated with the warm-hearted relationships among people, can also help people to find their most valuable things.These kinds of commercial advertisements not only present customers the information about a particular product, but also make life more interesting. Some of them are even present as stories or short films which really make viewers feel relaxed. Both the two types of advertisements discussed above influence what people think significant but they also produce a positive outcome in the social life. However, in teerms of the mere commercial advertisements, they at most promote some consumers to do impulse purchase. But the consumers often find what they buy useless a short time later after they decide to buy the commodity. They may affect the shopping decision but they can never change the most important things in their mind. Besides, these kinds of announcements take profit as the only goal of them, so most of them do not consider the feeling of the viewers or listeners. They persue the frequency they can be seen and their eyes and ears cannot even have a rest after a whole day work. Without doubt, they have caused serious vision and hearing pollution. Although I admit the idea that advertisments have important function on our daily life, I must say that some of them really have negative effects. what should be done next is to regulate such kind of advertisements instead of eliminating them.
