A lot of museums are built up in our cities, which usually contain thousands of pieces of art or memory. People in the cities or around always visit these museums, and lead to the prosperity of that. In my point of view, people visit the museums for the following reasons. Firstly, the museums always gather the knowledge of some fields, so that people can learn more from the visit. As we all know, the science museums show the trace of science development, and some pieces of equipment give the phenomenon to people, especially to children, willing to tell citizens the truth of science. Another example is the historic museums. Our country has so long a history and the ancients brought about innumerable documents and books, which show us what the history is like. People visit this kind of museums, holding the purpose to know the historic knowledge, such as the battles occurred in the ancient time, or the development of the ancient agriculture. In these cases, people are usually holding the desire to know more about either the universe or the history, while certain kinds of museums well meet this need. Secondly, the most museums people can see in their daily life or tourisms are the art museums. This kind of museums always contains lots of pieces of artwork, and attracts people to have a voyage of beauty. For example, I have visit the museum of Forbidden Palace in Peking, and I really love the artworks made of no matter metals or stones or other materials. They all give me a very strong impression of beauty, which astonish me for the excellent skills and understanding of beauty by the ancient artists. So I think people visit the art museums in order to see the beauty, to know the beauty, and to feel the beauty. What’s more, people visit some museums for a certain memory. The Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall is the typical one. People built this museum to protect this segment of history, and to avoid the descents’ forgetting. So people now visit this museum, to remember this disaster occurred in the Second World War in the capital of China. It tells people that never to forget the crime the invaders did, and it inspires people to devote themselves to protect their own country and citizens. In conclusion, people visit museums for the desire to knowledge, the feeling of art, or even the hope of memorizing.
