With the society develops, people are turning into an accelerating lifestyle and challenging the traditional consideration about dinner. They usually have a much faster daily life than their parents and more prosperity as well. In this case, many of them try to adapt a life to enjoy their food in restaurants, while the traditional way is to eat at home. For most people, especially the elder generations, they are more willing to prepare and eat food at home. They hold this opinion from generation to generation, and certainly several advantages are there when people eat at home. First, the food is perhaps safer than that in restaurants. People can do their best to ensure the safety of the food, so the homemade food seems to be a good choice if people are worried the safety to eat outside. Second, it is cheaper to eat at home than to eat outside. Surely the homemade food is quite cheap, for people don’t need to pay for the cooks and the waiters. That is a way for people to cut down the cost of life. Third, the time of eating at home with families, is an action to contract and communicate with the family members. They can cook every kind of common materials at home, and share a harmonious time with their families. What they insist most is that the cooking give them a good time and they’d like to see their families love the food. Not limited is the time for them, actually they have abundant time for the preparation and the cooking. However, many younger generations would rather eat at food stands or restaurants. They are always the chief labor of the society, and time is the most limited resource for them. As a result of work pressure, they don’t always have enough energy to prepare food after an entire day of working. So they usually choose the food stands and restaurants for dinner. Commonly, they have dinner at food stands, which offer quick food such as noodles and dumplings. But in some cases, they love to hold a party in the restaurants, for instance, they celebrate the New Year’s coming. They hold some reasons about whether to eat at home or to eat in restaurants. The first one is that to eat outside can save a lot of time. Undoubtedly, preparing and cooking the food cost some time, but when they finish their everyday work, it seems a little late to wait for the food cooked. Another reason is that the restaurants have more delicious and more kinds of food than that they can cook. Usually the recent youth are not able to cook as well as the cook does, however, they have the chance to enjoy the excellent food the restaurants offer, and numerous kinds of food they can eat, which meet their need for curiosity. What’s more, they are more willing to spend time with their friends, and the environment of restaurants seems better fit their desire and gives them the comfortable atmosphere. For me, I’d rather eat outside than to eat at home. I don’t have enough time to cook everyday, making me have to eat at food stands and restaurants. But if I have a vacation, I also love to cook food and share that with my family, or even my friends.
