A new restaurant is going to be built in my neighborhood. It seems to have several advantages, however, it might bring about quite a lot of trouble. A restaurant is a good place for dinning, so that I can hold a party with my friends. But if others do the same thing, the noise they make perhaps a disaster to my family. They might laugh, cry, or even beat the drum or perform some other instruments. The sound might be quite noisy to bear and will surely bother the sleep and the rest of surrounding residents. Especially, students need a quiet environment to finish their assignments after school, and some patients who are suffering the heart diseases always need a good rest in the evening. The restaurant might disturb the comfortable and peaceful life in the community. Another reason that I oppose this plan is that a restaurant always brings about some environmental problems. As we all know, restaurants in common have to deal with numerous kind of food, and byproduct and the residual are certainly a challenge. Some of the restaurants would just dump the waste of the material along the street, which will undoubtedly pollute the surrounding area. Even if the restaurant can deal well with the residual, the smell and smog produced while cooking are the hardest to handle. No matter the smell is smelly or not, a fresh air is always what we residents want, even not to mention the smog of barbeque or the charcoal burning. What’s more, if the restaurant has hundreds of guests, other social problems will occur and disturb our daily life. A lot of traffic will get into our community and of course makes the roads be crowded, in some ways increasing the risk of car crashes. And some drunken customers, who could not control their behaviors, might bring about violent events or even do crimes in our community. Despite the uncertainty the restaurant might brings, I oppose the construction of it. It should be built in a little far way distance, not the neighbor. If so, I am glad to see we residents enjoy the convenience and comfort that restaurant brings about.
