My opinion an strange name As we all know , having a good name is significant for our life, for our names are the first impression we give to others. So it is not surprising that parents are always sparing no efforts to think out good names to impress their expectation for children. And when deciding which name is the right one , there are mant factors contributing to it, which are always based on the traditional culture of China.Firstly, chinese parents have the belief of superstition from the past to now. So the date of birth and the divining of children's fortune are often taken into account at the first. Moreover, there are differences between giving names for girls and for boys. In the chinese culture, women are supposed to take the responsibility of doing housework and raising children to support their husbands. Therefore, the meaing of chinese women's names always include the symbol of being a good wife. However, nowadays, the phenomena of strange names is becoming more and more common. As far as I am concernd, the increasingly decreased attention of chinese of the modern society results in the phenomena to a great extent. With the development of economic globalization, the western culture penetration gradually becomes a powerful shock to our traditional culture. Under the huge impact of it, people no longer pay lots of attention on children's names, thinking that name is not representing the destiny of children. But on the other hand, it also reflects the superstition and some old bad culture gradually fading away from our life. The progress is not in civilization but also in the society of China.
