The picture shows that many people are connected in a net, they are all surfing internet through computer or cellphone, which gives a vivid picture of how people communicate in modern times. In my opinion, the prevail of internet can be a double edged sword in regard to human communication. Firstly, internet provides us with a fast and effective way of communication. Nowadays, with the development of information technology, people in different places are able to communicate more conveniently through internet. No matter how far away, once we get on line we are able to talk to each other and see each other immediately, which indoubtedly shortened the distance between us. However, we would also find that internet is so attractive that it costs us too much time surfing online, when we spend much time focusing on instant news, watching online movies or writting emails, we may neglect people around us. We rarely go outing with friends, we do less sports, and we talk less. To this extent, internet has become the block to our communication. All in all, a coin has two sides, whether internet is shortening the distance of largening the gap, it depends on how we use it.
