Tax plays an important role in countries’ infrastructure. When asked whether citizens are supposed to pay tax to their government, some people argue that individuals should keep all their salaries rather than pay tax. From my own perspective, as a citizen of a country, individuals are obligated to pay tax to their state. There are many reasons why people need to pay tax. Firstly, paying tax is conducive to a country’s infrastructure. Revenue can bring a great deal of money to a country. Therefore, government can allocate more money on building infrastructure, especially in rural area. Secondly, government is able to use tax on people. In other words, revenue, which is come from people, should absolutely benefit citizens. For example, there goes without saying that parks and zoos are built by our government in order to offer individuals public entertainment. Government uses the revenue to build those public places so that old people can spend their leisure time and youngsters are able to reduce their physical and psychological stress on weekend. Inevitably, on the other side, it is unfair for the poor or low income earners to pay the high rate of tax. The rich is supposed to pay higher rate of tax while the poor should pay lower one. This can make the society more balanced. We may safely draw the conclusion that all individuals have the responsible to pay tax instead of saving all their salaries in the bank since tax has positive effects on not only infrastructure but also benefiting people. But the poor or low income earners should pay low rate of tax.
