I watched the film yesterday. It makes me think a lot. I haven’t seen a movie as thought provoking as it. It is a story about two boys, Amir and Hassan. Hassan is not only the servant of Amir, but also the best friends. In the whole movie, Hassan was loyal and helpful to Amir. He has said that, ” For you, a thousand times over”, when they won the kite game and he ran to pick up the kite for Amir. At that time, I just think that if I can have a friend like that, there is no pity in life. But what happened next made me furious. Amir saw three bad guys having a sexual assault to Hassan, and he just ran away…. Hassan was wronged for stealing the watch by Amir, and he left with his father. When I was seeing this scene, I prayed for Hassan, because he has made a friend who was not worth Hassan did anything for. Later they grew up, and had their own family. Amir was guilt for what he had done to Hassan, so he faced the reality and tried to compensate with Hassan. He went back Afghanistan, which has been disastrous with war, to rescue Hassan’s son. I thought that I hated Amir for his disloyalty, but had I done something wrong like him? And I realized that people should be responsible for his behavior. We are not saints, neither evil, so it is unavoidable that we would make mistakes, what we need to do is recognize it and correct it.
