Social Media Should Be Considered by Employers Nowadays, social media have been widely used by people. We can present our daily lives on our pages and interact with others. It is also a way for employers to know more about us. So I think companies should consider a candidate’s social media accounts when hiring people. Social media accounts should be considered when companies hire people. One of the reasons is that social media partly show how people interact with others. If candidates post something inappropriate and even hurt other’s feeling, employers can predict that they don’t know how to connect with other employees in a proper way. Even though they are qualified in skills, but they may have some defeats in their personalities. The other reason is that the accounts partly show their attitudes toward their lives. If they post something negative when facing difficulties, so the employers can predict that they may not hold positive attitudes toward their jobs when there are challenges. So through social media, employers can predict how these people interact with others and their attitudes toward their jobs, so as to judge whether they are capable. In conclusion, companies should consider a candidate’s social media accounts when hiring people.
