Nowdays, with the popularity of communication technology, more and more people can't live without phone. As a result, some people are worried that phones will kill letter writting. However, I thinks they are unessary to worry in that letter writting has some exclusive advantages over phone. There are several reasons for this. First of all, sending a letter costs less phoning,especially when a person you want to communicate with live in another place. On experiences, you spend no more than 1yuan on a letter. But usually it costs you at least several yuan or more to phone a person. Secondly, there are many situations which letters are more appropriate or feasible than phone calls. For example,if you invite one of your good friends to attend your wedding, it;s better to send him a letter of invitation than jjust to phone him. Last but no least, letters are often written in more appropriable and logical way. During the course of writting a letter, you would weigh your wore carefully. In contrast, during a phone conversation, you are easy to speak out of your ideas without mature thought. Taking the above factors into consideration, phones cannot instead of letters. Either of them has its own advantage and disadvantage.
