This saying is actually talking about the collaboration and competition, which is more important to success. Needing friends means collaboration. By contrast, needing enemies indicates competition. In my opinion, I totally agree this topic. It’s true that you will definitely enjoy numerous benefits from friends. To begin with, the more friends you have, the more ideas you get, which is helpful to broad your horizon. Especially when you encounter difficulties, friends can give you appropriate suggestions or solutions to solve these problems. Further, working with friends provides us a sense of belonging, which, in turn, motivates us to fight for the common goal. In this sense, friends play a vital role in leading to success. However, “we need friends to get success” doesn’t mean “enemies” is nothing to success. In fact, sometimes, it contributes more to success than friends. For example, in smartphone market, Samsung and Apple are fighting for the supremacy. Obviously, they are enemies. But it’s their fierce competition that force them to play the maximum potential to innovate and design the best smartphone. Not only can the customers benefit from their competition but also they themselves make greater achievement. So we sincerely welcome friends to join us for our promising future. But if enemies mean huge success, let the enemies or competition come more intense!
