When asked the question that should we use dialects in public places, different people have different opinions. Some people believe that it is necessary to speak dialects in public in that different regions have different dialects specifically, others, however, support the policy that "putong hua" is supposed to use in the country. In my opinion, we should follow the pace of change all over the world to encourage citizens to speak "putong hua". Firstly, as we all know, it is urgent to make Chinese fulfill the view that global economy and culture trigger us to be more open and united, and language is one of the most important tools, which can gather different ideas. Therefore, standard language should be used in some official places, to be more practical, we should speak standard language in public places. In addition, even though dialects are natural in different places, which connects people in certain place. Nevertheless, with the development of the world economy, "open and reform" policy encouage us to communicate with people from other countries. If we use dialects, few people can understand us what we think. What's more, using standard langusge manifests the education is placed a vital position in our country, we are suppposed to realise the fact that dialects do not disappear soon, what we should do is to change our minds to accept the advantages of use standard language. As far as I'm concerned, dialects played an important role in people's life, what we should do is to follow the trend of world development, using standerd language is a good way to make sure we can communicate with others in same language, which contributes to much understanding.
