It is very well-known and often quoted that China has various nations and dialects. People from different region could speak different dialect which can really deter the communication among the whole country. I firmly believe that dialects are not acceptable in public places. Following are my reasons. First of all, people get together in public places to have communications in order to exchange information, but if people have their dialects which make them can not understand one another then the communication might fail to going on and the information could be misunderstood or even could not be spread at all. Secondly, dialect is nurtured by culture, nation, region even belief, so when someone is speaking a particular dialect he has been the presentative of his hometown, his culture, his nation and his belief. However, one of the most important thing for a country is unition. Only a country is united can she be strong and powerful. According that speaking the same language in public seems neccessary. Thirdly, individuals can not live in this world alone, we have to make social relations with others. As long as several people be in public places, tring to make friendship with one another, we hope to be listened, understood and accepted. At this time, dialects could turn into a wall, blocking this process, which can make people suffer lonliness. On the ground of those three reasons I have mentioned above, I do not think it is acceptable to use dialects in public places. And in order to have a good communication and a united country I believe that speaking standard language is inevitable.
