Many professions think it is important to learn math even for English major students.Different people hold different ideas.Some people think English students should learn math,but others hold the view that there is no need for English major students studying math.As for as i am concerned,I agree with the latter. Among many factors which influence my idea,there are three obviously aspects as follows.Firstly,I think learning math is a waste of our precious time,after all there is no doubt that we have to spend extra time to have classes.And if some students are interesting in math ,they can choose to attend math class to learn about math.Secondly,as for English students,they are not good at math,even some are bored at math.So learning math may bring lots of pressure for them and bring high fail rates which is bad for both students and school.Last but not the least,there is little use in life after graduating. All in all,I am still hold my opinion that there is no need to attend a math class.And we should pay attention to our own major is the most essential thing.
