In order to further know what really caused these errors, the researcher read 100 compositions carefully. Then, a table with errors was listed, including A: uncountable nouns with -s, B: collection errors between uncountable nouns and determiner, C: countable nouns without determiner, D: countable nouns with no -s and E: collection errors between plural nouns and determiner. The table above showed that junior students committed errors of D most frequently with a frequency of 185, which took an account of 60.66%. In other words, if there were 10 errors of nouns committed by the subjects, maybe six errors could be from type D, that was, countable nouns without -s. This situation reflected that the junior students usually ignored the plural suffix inflection of countable nouns. However, this error was quite important for English learners, especially for English beginners. Error of type A was the second with a frequency of 46, taking a part of 15.08%, which meat that the subjects often use uncountable nouns as countable nouns. Yet the errors of type B were seldom committed, which was a frequency of 5 and a ratio of 1.63%. Let the present author gave some examples for these errors. There were some typical examples of error of type A occurring in compositions and the test. The examples were as following: (1)He gives me some advises for learning English (2)Young as he is, he has good knowledges. (3)He was so knowledgeable that sent some informations to us. In 1985, Quirk thought that the distinction between countable nouns and uncountable nouns was not fully explainable as necessarily inherent in “ real world ” denotation.
