Based on the accuracy of the test, it could be seen that item 1 and item 5 were done well among these 40 students. The situation indicated that the test was not difficult to these subjects and it could distinguish these students’ level in using nouns in single and plural forms. After an interview, these chosen students and teachers also talked about their experience. Some students said that they felt puzzled during the teachers’ explanation. Others said that when they wrote a composition they would feel nervous and confused, because the composition was too long for them to finish. When these students did the given test, the same feeling occurred. Some errors may be committed often. According to Pit Corder(1985), the errors may result from the lack of target language, which took a large proportion in committed errors. From subjects’ behaviors, their basic knowledge was not solid to some degree. Meanwhile, Dai Weidong (2002) at home had stated language transfer played an important role in second language learning. As for two teachers, they reflected that though the errors of number of nouns were not a big deal, these errors actually played a significant role in composition. At times, these teachers felt ridiculous when reading students’ compositions just because number errors of nouns. Taylor (1986) held that the error source may be psycho-linguistic, sociolinguistic or epistemic or may reside in the discourse structure. What’s more, the major finding was that errors of type A committed by the subjects were mistakes. In other words, these junior students did not master basic English grammar well and this mistake could be attributed to intra-lingual errors.
