With the development of education, more and more students study English. But they pay more attention to the words and grammers. Less and less students can speak English fluently, and most of college students are learning mute English. I think it's the several reasons that cause the fact. First, they regard the English as a task but not an interest, so they don't emphasize the importance of oral English and they just want to pass the exams. Second, the English teachers don't give students chances to practice speaking English. Third, the college students are afraid to speak English, because they are fearful of making mistakes. I don't think it's a good situation. If this kind of situation continues, there are less and less students speaking English. It will lead a bad effection. What should we do to end mute English? In my opinion,there are some steps helping college students learning and speaking English. First, as college students, we should form an interest of learning and speaking English. Second, for English teachers, they should try their best to create chances to include college students in speaking oral English activities. Third, aollege students should be brave and persistent when learn English. They shouldn't be afraid of speaking English and making mistakes. In general, I think if college students could do these, they can end mut English.
