over the years, how to help children to be independent has always been a hot topic. at present, most family owns only one child who surely be the center of the whole family. warm houses, tasty food and all kinds of physical things which parents can get are all brought to these kids without premises. even children's future is well designed by their caring parents. it's considerable that parents love their children so much that they try their utmost to sweep away any barriers which may appear on children's growing road. however, those children, who grow up under the wings of parents, have neither persistence and perseverence in pursuing their dreams, nor the stamina and industriousness which are most needed in leading a independent job or creating a comfortable life. why this is so? most of these problems attribute to the over-love from their parents. so in order to help children really live a successful and happy life, the most inportant thing for parents' to do is to teach children to be independent from the very beginning. several accesses of independence development are given here. first of all, parents should show their children a good example of doing their own tasks independently, thus give children the impression that it's their duty to do private things themselves, such as washing socks, preparing schoolbags, etc. secondly, except for pocket money, children should be required to do extra work if he or she asks for extra money. this will make children understand that only hard work can bring them what they want and it's not easy to earn each dollar. last but not least, parents should understand that no one has right or duty to arrange others future. growing up means making their own decisions, no one could pass it, no matter how scare you are, for it's a part of growing up. so encouraging and accompanying your children when they make decisions, especially decisions that have a big influence on their future life, but never do it for them! if you follow all these suggestions, children can be much more independent, which help them truly hold their lives.
