In recent years,the ignorance of Chinese has been seen among students.In contrast,more and more students attach great importance to foreign language study. A number of factors can account for such phenomenon,but the following might be the main ones.First,the globalization greatly stimulated the students' passion for learning English,which in turn affect,to some degree,students' passion for the study of their native language.Moreover,fewer and fewer universities motivate Chinese language study on campus,which has caused it to be marginalized. There is no doubt that neglecting the study of chinese is bound to generate severe consequences.Firstly, students'weakness in Chinese would lead to their ignorance of Chinese culture and may even make them love their country less.Secondly,their problems with Chinese would also affect their other subjects. In my view,the problem mentioned above has become more and more serious,so we must care more about it. To begin with ,it is essential that the school should pay more attention to the teaching of Chinese.Secondly ,students shoule know importance of mastering their mother tongue.Only with these measures taken,I think,can we take Chinese seriously.
